Oxford Private Care understands the importance of training and developing its employees to ensure that we are equipped to provide the highest level of care for our clients.
We have a dedicated team who oversees our training programme. This includes working with a full time NVQ assessor who supports our carers in completing NVQ Levels 2 and 3 in Care. We have a formal induction and shadowing programme for all new employees followed by regular monitoring and supervision.
Every carer receives specific training in the following areas:
- Manual handling for safe transfers and use of lifting equipment
- Food hygiene for preparation of food and meals
- Medication control
- Infection control
- First aid awareness (dealing with an emergency)
- Alert to abuse.
Specialist training in many other areas of care is also provided eg. palliative and dementia.
We also have a qualified nurse who provides practical support, training and supervision to all our carers.
