About our live-in carers
By promoting independence and well-being, our carers will allow you or your loved one to maintain a sense of being in control throughout the day with no rigid rules or timetables. This promotes better health and an enhanced quality of life, helping you or your loved one to enjoy the things you have always done – at home!
We are particularly proud through the experience built up over 36+ years. One of our strengths is the network of carers we have and our ability to match the correct carer with the right personality and skills to meet the specific requirements and needs of our clients.
All of our carers are dedicated to improving the lives of those that they care for. They are proud to work for Oxford Private Care and in turn we look for the following key attributes:
- Reliability
- Compassion
- Trustworthiness
- Caring Nature
- Friendliness
- Enthusiasm
- Patience
- Respect
- Professionalism
We employ a broad range of carers from the UK and around the world, most of whom have a wealth of experience and some with nursing experience and qualifications. All of our carers speak fluent English and are able to cook English and other food to a good standard.
All of our live-in carers undergo a stringent recruitment process through careful checking, interviewing and assessment. For each live-in carer we:
- Complete an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) security check (formerly CRB)
- Seek two written references
- Conduct a formal interview and assessment
- Check the validity of academic and vocational qualifications (as appropriate)
- Check the carer has the correct documentation to allow them to work in the UK
Our live-in carers will require breaks and time off during a placement, and these will be discussed and agreed with you at the initial meeting.
Each of our live-in carers will require their own bedroom in your home, with adequate facilities, fixtures and fittings to enable them to feel comfortable living with you.
Oxford Private Care is not an introductory agency whose method is only to recruit carers for you, to then directly employ yourself. Our business is a fully managed service where the carers are wholly supported and employed by Oxford Private Care – we pay their salaries, taxes, and cover any sickness and holidays.
Our Care Managers will visit your home to meet with the carer and yourself (and family member) throughout the year to ensure our service is delivered to the highest possible standards.
